That we have no control of the supply chain, and rely on hosts to consider the scheduling guidelines when uploading their show. You must have your audio recording ready to upload before you pick a slot.New hosts, Interviews, and other time critical shows should use the first free slot.Always try and fill any free slots that are available in the upcoming two weeks.When the queue is filling up then leave some slots free for new contributors.Post non urgent shows into the first empty week.If you are uploading a series of shows then post them one every two weeks.If you have a non urgent show that is timeless, then add every second show to the Reserve Queue. Dave records an episode using AuphonicEdit, edited with Audacity, processed with Auphonic, and uploaded to the HPR website... to show how straight-forward it is to do! This is very much an unscripted stream-of-consciousness episode, complete with heavy breathing, wind noise (meteorological, not flatulent), road noise, and one instance of having to ask for directions because Dave got lost. ... in his own town. ... where he's lived for 18 years. ... quite embarrassing really.

Picture 1 shows the two replacement Kenwood batteries that I purchased from ebay. Picture 2 shows the original clock battery fitted to my Kenwood radio. This battery retains the time, and alarm settings when the power is removed from the radio. Link showing a fluke 77 Digital Multi-meter identical to the one I have. Wikipedia article about de-soldering which shows a typical de-soldering pump (solder sucker) similar to the one I used. Picture 3 shows the resistor I attached to one end of the new battery extending the leads so they reach between the two battery terminal posts on my Kenwood radio. Picture 4 shows the new clock backup battery fitted to my Kenwood radio note the extended lead on the right hand side made from the leg of an old resistor I had lying around. Picture 5 shows the poor lighting and cramped working conditions I had to deal with.

rkvm is a software KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) switch - minus the video. From the README: rkvm is a tool for sharing keyboard and mouse across multiple Linux machines. It is based on a client/server architecture, where server is the machine controlling mouse and keyboard and relays events (mouse move, key presses, ...) to clients. In this episode I discuss the steps I took to install and compile rkvm, my experiences running it, and what led me to this software in the first place.
