Dan Wetzel, SI’s Pat Forde & SI’s Ross Dellenger give their full breakdowns for the College Football Playoff semifinals matchups between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Ohio State Buckeyes & the Michigan Wolverines taking on the TCU Horned Frogs.
Before we get to the game previews and predictions, the guys chat about new developments in whether bowl games could start distributing money to the players who participate in them. Ross details how the future structure could incentivize players who would opt out to play in the bowl games instead. Along with compensation, the bowls could be looking to raise the eligibility requirement by having teams need a winning record in order to play.
In transfer portal news, former Wake Forest quarterback Sam Hartman has entered the transfer portal for his final year, seemingly in an attempt to make more NIL money before heading to the NFL. Elsewhere, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy was fiery with a reporter after losing his bowl game to Wisconsin, so the guys speculate who was in the right.
Bringing it back to the two semifinal matchups, the Ohio State Buckeyes will be challenging the Georgia Bulldogs in Atlanta this weekend, while the TCU Horned Frogs will look to keep their Cinderella season alive in their game against the Michigan Wolverines at the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona.
Finally, the pod wraps up the show with a People’s Court on a waiter in New York City.
